The RotaChrom rCPC (research Centrifugal Partition Chromatographic) system is a research
& development purpose Centrifugal Partition Chromatography system intended for pilot scale
purification of compounds. Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) is a liquid-liquid
preparative chromatographic technique, in which separation takes place in a multicomponent,
biphasic solvent system which separates into two immiscible phases, so that both the
stationary and mobile phases are liquid, and the stationary phase is immobilized by a strong
centrifugal force.
The purpose of the rCPC is to separate compounds of interest (COI) from impurities. It is possible to collect up to 9 COI fractions and 1 Impurity fraction. The rCPC operates with time-based fraction collection. The composition of the separated fractions is monitored by a UV detector
Verbatim from the previous owner: The unit was barely used by the University and is no longer needed. It was too large for the Universities needs. The unit was to be used in Hemp essential processing. The system only has 383 hours. Manual is not included but will send an online link to the purchaser.
